Silicon Validation Engineer - Datacenter Products


The Role


The Datacenter Team is looking for dynamic and energetic Silicon Validation Engineers. As a key contributor to the time-to-market success of AMD's GPU based accelerators, you will work in collaborative teams to ensure quality of industry leading products for Machine Learning and High-Performance Computing applications. This role focuses on the SOC IPs involved in AMD Infinity Fabric interconnect architecture. Our team fosters continuous innovation and is committed to nurturing you career growth.


The Person


A collaborative technical leader capable in test content creation and execution of Silicon Validation. You will need to solve problems as a team tackling challenges from a tightly interdependent SOC datapath architecture (AMD Infinity Fabric ). You should feel comfortable to be hands-on with Linux-based datacenter platforms in the labs.


Key Responsibilities


As a SOC Validation Engineer, you will work all aspects of SOC validation from pre-silicon planning and emulation, to post-silicon Power-on, validation, and debug. The focus will be on testing SOC level data interconnect technologies targeting all


relevant concepts such as caching, coherency, and resource arbitration, just to name a few.


Responsibilities Include


  • Hands-on execution on datacenter platforms for test and debug
  • Lead diverse teams through debug efforts for issues found
  • Develop procedures for validation and debug
  • Develop automation code in Python
  • Interface with HW/FW design teams
  • Meet critical program milestones for customer deliverables
  • Technical reporting to communicate program status
  • Build end-to-end test strategy from pre- to post-silicon with collaborative approach
  • Continuous improvements to time-to-market and time-to-quality


IDEAL CANDIDATE
  • 5+ years of experience in silicon validation
  • Test or design implementation experience in Graphics / CPU Hardware
  • Relevant experience with computer data traffic concepts
    • Traffic Queues and Caching
    • Memory mapping and allocation
    • Resource arbitration
    • Coherency
    • Traffic performance and latency
  • Experience developing HPC/ML applications or HW exercisers
  • Strong Linux and coding skills (C/C++, Python, Ubuntu)
  • Must have strong analytical skills for test creation and debug
  • Must have strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Must be a self-starter and be able to independently drive tasks to completion
  • Experience in Datacenter Industry a valuable asset


Academic Credentials


  • Bachelors or Master's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering
