Job Overview
Immediate need for Siemens Wind Turbine Service Technicians with experience and training on Gamesa Family 2 or Family 3 platforms
As a Wind Turbine Service Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible to service newly operational Siemens G145 turbines:
Assist other technicians, while under the supervision of other more experienced technicians and/or leads
May be authorized to perform specific tasks independently or under supervision
Work performed as an assistant, under supervision or as authorized which may include:
Scheduled quarterly and annual maintenance without supervision
Unscheduled maintenance
Defective parts removal and replacement using proper work instructions
Large component replacement, retrofits, troubleshooting and other special assignments
Continue to develop and expand skillset through on-the-job training and train others in performing service work
Work safely, competently and productively under the direction of others
Keep records, maintain documentation and report technical and safety issues
Must meet the following requirements, have or obtain the listed required certifications and training (may be provided) including, but not limited to:
Must have 2+ years of experience performing Wind Turbine Service and/or Maintenance Work
Citizen of or eligible to travel to and work in Canada for extended periods of time
Ability to work an 8 week on, 1 week off rotation
Physically able to climb wind turbines up to 80m (270 feet), stand, stoop, walk, crawl, crouch, stoop and generally meet the physical demands of the position.
Experience performing wind turbine service and/or maintenance on Siemens SG145, Gamesa 80, 83, 87, 90, 97, 114, 122, 126 or 132.
Must have experience using a grease gun, doing filter changes, using ERAD system, doing torquing and tensioning and similar service
Valid and current driving license with a satisfactory driving record
Must be 21 years of age to be able to drive a company vehicle
Must be able to proficiently read, write and speak English
Satisfactory criminal background check
GWO BST (Basic Safety Training - fire awareness, working at heights, manual handling, first aid)
GWO BTT (Basic Technical Training) - electrical, hydraulic, mechanical
OSHA 10 General Industry
Applicable Siemens Gamesa Technical eLearning
Crane, Chain Hoist and Rigging Safety Training
NFPA 70E Arc-Flash Awareness
Prefer training or experience with Touchscreen Controller Hand Terminals
