Scenic Carpenter
John Creech Design and Production (JCDP), is seeking a well-rounded Carpenter to join our creative team.
JCDP is a full-service scenic fabricator for the entertainment industry in Brooklyn, NY. We fabricate everything that can be conceived for television, film, commercials, special events, theatre and display.
Carpenters will report to the Shop Foreman and work closely with Project Managers to complete the fabrication of projects.
Job Functions:
Participate in the construction, transportation, and installation of projects.
Work from build drawings to verify dimensions and build to spec.
Create cut sheets from drawings
Follow directions and assist Shop Foreman as needed
Ensure proper safety practices are followed, personal protective equipment is worn at all times, and that a clean, safe and efficient work space is maintained
A thorough knowledge of Theatrical Carpentry methods is A MUST
The ideal candidate will have:
A positive, willing attitude
2+ years Carpentry experience
Extensive knowledge of stationary and hand-held power tools including table saw, routers and typical rotary and circular bit/blade tools
Possess your own basic hand tools and ability to get job sites when needed
Willingness to travel on projects for out-of-town installs, work overtime, nights, and weekends when necessary.
Ability to use ladders and carry at least 50 pounds.
Pay is hourly plus OT and based on experience.

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
