Job Overview

Job Summary:

Under general supervision, responsible on a multi-shift rotating schedule to service and fuel mobile mining equipment. Oiler may be assigned to service equipment while it is located in the shop or in the field.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Comply with all Company policies and procedures. Ensure work activities comply with all State and Federal environmental regulations and MSHA regulations. Attend monthly safety meetings. Identify any potential safety hazards and report them to supervision.

Check and ensure fluid levels are properly maintained in fuel, crankcase, transmission and engines of mobile mining equipment to include dozers, scrapers, motor graders, front-end loaders, coal haulage trucks, water trucks, water pumps and light plants. Refuel when necessary.

Maintain and service lubrication systems of equipment in accordance with established preventative maintenance schedules. Drain and replace oil and hydraulic fluids. Replace fuel, oil and air filters. Grease/lubricate all wear points on machinery.

Conduct preventative maintenance inspection of mechanical and wear components, hydraulic systems and tires on equipment to determine proper operating function. Report all mechanical defects to the Maintenance Shift Foreman.

Maintain daily records of the fuel, oil and lubricants used to service each piece of equipment as well as all preventative maintenance activities performed on the equipment.
Perform general housekeeping of oil shed and lube bay area.
