Diesel Service Center is looking for an experienced Service Advisor in our Bolingbrook location to perform the following duties:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE SERVICE ADVISOR

• Advise customers about necessary service for routine maintenance.
• Help identify mechanical problems by questioning the customer on the phone or doing a visual inspection.
• Confer with customers about inspection results, recommend corrective procedures, and prepare work order for needed repairs.
• Prepare a repair order showing time, cost, and labor estimates for service.
• Write a brief description of the problem on the repair order to help the mechanic locate the problem.
• Explain the work performed and the charges to the customer.
• Handle customer complaints.
• Contacting customers directly, not only to update their information in our systems, but also to see if they are in need of our services.
• Order parts as needed for vehicles in the shop.
• Verify parts billed correctly to customer.
• Maintain inventory items, order when needed and verify quantities.
• Answer phones for DSC.
• Assign work to Mechanics that best fits schedule needs and Mechanic skill level.
• Assist the Shop Foreman by helping him complete his/her daily tasks.
• Be a Team player, with a positive attitude and great work ethic that encourages others.
• Logging all contacts with customers (Email, phone, text or other).3

This is a full time position. Monday - Friday

No Saturday hours.

Requirements: JOB REQUIREMENTS OF THE SERVICE AGENT

• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Past experience working in the automotive industry preferred
• Organization and time management skills
• AS400 experience a plus

PI
