Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Staff Structural Engineer to join the System Support Team. This position is located in Roy, UT and supports the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program.

What You'll Get To Do:

The selected candidate for this role will conduct analysis, research and develop structural engineering specifications involving metals, non-metallic or composite structural materials for product design, or operation of product. Designs will include structures, mechanical, hydraulic, power plant, armament, heating and ventilating, equipment, and maintenance operations. Candidate will analyze damage tolerance, durability, design allowables, and develop structural modeling. Specific structural engineering specialties may include dynamics and static load environments, stability and stress fatigue and thermal analysis. Tools utilized may include NX, Abaqus or ANSYS, and a variety of other software applications

Duties and Responsibilities:
•Interface with review team to assure customer satisfaction with design
•Interface with engineers to understand mechanical drawings and make appropriate corrections.
•Work with internal Customers to concept needed support equipment for new and existing programs
•Developing support equipment concepts and develop to final models with model based dimensioning and tolerancing
•Support vendors during design and fabrication
•Verify design configuration for drawing compliance, including fit, form and function
•Support continuous improvement
•Experience and familiarity with machine shop and weld shop practices

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

Job Qualifications:
You'll Bring These Qualifications:
•Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) discipline and 14 years of experience; 12 years with Master's Degree; 9 years with PhD
•Experience with Finite Element Modeling (FEM), post processing of data, and analysis report generation
•Current DoD Secret clearance
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
•Experience in FEM tools: Abaqus, ANSYS, FEMAP, or Nastran
•Experience in dynamic analysis of ground transportation vehicles
•Experience leading a team of engineers

Salary Range: $134,700 USD - $202,100 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
