Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Staff Hardware Engineer to join the Command and Launch Team. This position is located in Colorado Springs, CO and supports the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program.

What You'll Get To Do:

The individual in this role will be part of the Launch Guidance and Control Sub-IPT and serve as a senior design and integration engineer for electronic hardware components. The scope of work spans requirements, design, development, analysis, laboratory testing, verification, and production of hardware, wire harnesses, and equipment racks.

Responsibilities include:
• Mechanical design and analysis of equipment racks and wire harnesses using Computer-Aided Design (CAD)
• Conduct packaging trades
• Generate drawing packages and associated electronic data
• Support the fabrication, assembly, and test of hardware, equipment racks, and wire harnesses

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

Job Qualifications:
You'll Bring These Qualifications:
•Bachelor of Science degree and 14 years of experience; 12 years with Master's Degree; 9 years with PhD
• 3D CAD and mechanical design experience
• Experience with system testing and integration
• Experience working with a multi-disciplinary team
• Active DoD Secret clearance, granted or re-investigated within last 6 years

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
• A current DoD Top Secret clearance granted or re-investigated within last 6 years
• Experience using Siemens NX and/or Teamcenter
• Experience using Mentor Capital
• Experience with or knowledge of analytical and/or Finite Element Modeling (FEM) tools
• Experience with electrical design and/or electronics manufacturing process
• Experience performing environmental (i.e. thermal, shock, etc.) analysis of electronic components in support of qualification activities
• IPC/WHMA -A -620 Manufacture of cable, wire and harness assemblies Certified
• IPC J-STD-001 Standard Soldering Requirements Certified
• AFSI D38999 Connector Certification
• Experience in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
• Experience using DOORS, Cameo EA, Microsoft Office, and MATLAB
• Ability to work with little direct supervision, self-motivated, and self-starting
• Excellent communication skills - verbal, written, and presentation

Salary Range: $129,000 USD - $193,400 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
