Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Range Safety Certification Lead. This position will be located in Chandler, AZ and will support the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package. This requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on qualifications listed below.
What you'll get to do:
The candidate provides the knowledge and technical skills to support the Sentinel's Range Safety Certification program in all aspects of flight and range safety analysis and data production. The candidate will utilize skills and experience to verify missile trajectory data to perform quantitative safety and risk analyses of flight test designs to ensure ballistic missile flight tests can be conducted safely on the western test range. In addition, candidate is expected to develop range safety data products for use by national test ranges in their independent safety assessments of flight tests. The candidate will also assist in developing algorithms and models to facilitate safety assessments that meet standard risk parameters defined in Range Commanders Council (RCC) documentation. Furthermore, the candidate will be required to schedule, participate in, and present analysis at working group meetings, peer reviews and other technical meetings. The candidate should have strong oral and written communications skills and be comfortable communicating to the customer and senior management. Candidate should be self-motivated, with the ability to make proper, timely decisions and recommendations.

You'll bring these qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline
- 14+ years of Missile Range Test / Range Safety experience
- 5+ years experience leading/conducting and Execution of Flight Operations at a Major Range and Test Facility Base
- Experience in Planning and Executing integrated Launch Countdown Procedures
- Experience in Mission Execution Training - Nominal, Off-nominal, and Contingency Operations for Console Operators
- Experience with FAA / AFSPCMAN 91-710 Flight Certification (Tailoring Requirements, Providing Formal Verification)
- Experience Conducting Flight Readiness Reviews with external agencies such FAA / Space Launch Delta
- Experience in Missile Integration and Certification to obtain an Operational Approval Letter from Agencies such as FAA, Space Force / Air Force
- Experience with generating data per MIL-STD-882E such as Hazard Analysis Reports
- Active Secret clearance with investigation in the last 6 years
- Weapon System Experience (Minuteman III or similar military or industry experience)
- Experience with tailoring RCC-319, RCC-324 and AFSPCMAN 91-710 requirements
- Active Top Secret clearance with investigation in the last 6 years
