Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Sr. Principal / Principal Materials Process Engineer to join the System Engineering Team. This position is located in Roy, UT and supports the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program. Final grade level offered will be based on candidate level of experience.
What You'll Get To Do:
Candidate will be responsible to perform point of contact (POC) duties on behalf of Parts, Materials and Processes (PM&P) during the design of weapon systems and equipment under an overarching Systems Engineering framework
Candidate will utilize ability to communicate effectively across engineering disciplines and design teams. Will work both independently and collaboratively to resolve issues, determine priorities, and implement solutions. Candidate will utilize experience with military standards and specifications.
Candidate will utilize general knowledge of Systems Engineering, multi-generational program system and/or multi-generational program subsystem development, and familiarity with supplier management.
Candidate is expected to work independently to provide innovative technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems. In addition, candidate will exhibit self-motivation, work under general direction, and work well in teams.

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
Job Qualifications:
You'll Bring These Qualifications:
•Sr. Principal Engineer: Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) discipline and 9 years of experience; 7 years with Master's Degree; 4 years with PhD
•Principal Engineer: Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) discipline and 9 years of experience; 7 years with Master's Degree; 4 years with PhD
•Experience in leading teams to ensure that PM&P program or contract requirements are applied to parts and assemblies
•Must be proficient in Microsoft Office tools
•Familiar with military standards and specifications
•US citizen with ability to obtain DoD Secret level clearance or higher
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
•An Active, In-Scope DOD Secret Security Clearance or higher that has been granted / renewed within the past 6 years
•Working knowledge of SharePoint, JIRA, Confluence, Microsoft teams, Siemens Teamcenter or other life cycle management system
•Experience selecting or verifying compliance to industry and military standards pertaining to parts, materials or processes
•Experience in aluminum, stainless steel, or titanium alloys as it applies to the design and manufacture of parts and assemblies
•Design experience of PWB's, CCA's, cables, wire harnesses
•Experience reviewing technical drawings and engineering data for compliance to PM&P requirements
•Understanding of supply chain management as it relates to parts management and obtaining technical specifications on components
•Excellent 2-way communication skills (upward and downward), collaboration and interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management
Salary Range: $79,700 USD - $119,500 USD
Salary Range 2: $98,700 USD - $148,100 USD
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
