Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Principal Guidance, Navigation and Control Engineer to join the System Test Team. This position is located at Vandenberg Space Force Base (VSFB), CA and supports the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program.

What You'll Get To Do:

The selected candidate will support the GBSD Missile flight test campaign at VSFB, CA. Specific responsibilities will include ICBM guidance and navigation system installation, checkout, troubleshooting, and performance analysis.

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

Job Qualifications:
You'll Bring These Qualifications:
•Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) discipline and 5 years of experience; 3 years with Master's Degree; 0 years with PhD
•Extensive knowledge and experience modeling, simulating, and analyzing aerospace vehicles and subsystems.
•Experience in test case definition to validate requirements in nominal and stressing conditions.
•Experience with launch vehicle and/or strategic missile guidance, navigation, and control principles from guidance system turn-on, ground operations, through launch and payload insertion
• Extensive experience using Monte Carlo analysis techniques to determine vehicle performance under uncertainty
• Experience in error covariance analysis methods
• Experience and familiarity with high accuracy inertial measurement system modeling and analysis
• Extensive experience using MATLAB/Simulink and C++
• Experience of Object-Oriented Programming principles
• A current DoD Secret clearance granted or updated within last 6 years

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
• A current Top Secret Security Clearance granted or updated within last 6 years
• Experience with ICBM guidance and navigation systems, hardware and software
• Flight Test experience
• Excellent communication skills
• Experience working in an Agile team or even leading a scrum team
• Experience and knowledge in principles of Model Based System Engineering (MBSE)

Salary Range: $101,400 USD - $152,200 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
