Reporting to the Profit Center Manager, you will oversee all facets of the underwriting operations of the Southwest. You and your team of Underwriters and Underwriting Assistants will grow the book while maintaining a focus on profitability. Job Responsibilities: Ensure the ongoing, profitable growth of Starr's expanding Excess Construction operations. In this role, you will be expected to: Achieve budgeted regional production and profitability goals Develop and expand key broker relationships and drive marketing across the assigned territory Build and maintain a pipeline of high-quality target opportunities across the region Collaborate with leaders of other profit centers to drive cross-sell of applicable products Drive team engagement and culture with a focus on developing members of the team in current and future roles Assist with the development and implementation of underwriting strategies Monitor claim activity and profitability and proactive adjust strategies as needed Forecast and report production to regional and profit center leadership Job Requirements: Bachelor's Degree At least 7 years of Construction underwriting experience Experience with project/wraps preferred Prior leadership experience preferred Strong construction broker relationships in assigned territory Proven sales and business development skills in a dynamic marketplace Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills NOTE: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
