Job Overview
Description:
The Senior Technical Design Manager is responsible for the development and management of construction and design standards and quality control procedures nationally used by our client Design, Construction, and Development departments. This position leads quality and technical innovation through products and systems research, specifications coordination, and standards documentation.
• Responsible for construction standards and SCI specs maintenance & development
• Maintain and develop knowledge of technical building systems, products, and assemblies (i.e. floor, wall, roof, moisture & thermal protection / building envelop, MEP, waterproofing, acoustics, etc.)
• Manage QC during DD, CD, and construction
• Problem solving for complex technical issues
• Provide guidance and support junior Design Associate on technical knowledge
• Introduce innovative systems / products for critical categories
• Interact with building suppliers and vendors
• Conduct Construction Standards Orientations
• Support design and construction teams on interpretation and application of AVB standards. Assist on resolution when issues arise with standards
• Answer / research complex systems / product questions

Multifamily Experience (Hospitality, Mixed Use, or Office Space experience strongly considered)

Knowledge of IBC, CSI, Master Format, and FHA/ADA
