Job Details

As a Senior Project Engineer with our Transportation/Public Works team in San Diego, you will utilize your expertise to lead the planning and design activities for transportation and public works projects while working in a team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for organizing and executing technical deliverables and coordination of a broad range of assignments requiring previous extensive knowledge and experience on Transportation and Public Works Projects.
• Leading design efforts in conventional aspects of Transportation Engineering, which may include street and highway design, drainage, traffic control design, signage, striping, grading and research & analysis.
• Design efforts will be concentrated in Transportation Engineering which may include research & analysis, engineering studies, street and highway design, design of transit and bicycle facilities, storm/sewer drainage design, traffic control/stage construction design, signing/striping, and utility coordination.
• Coordinating with sub-consultants, internal project team members and managing activities of internal staff.
• Preparing and reviewing plans, specifications, estimates, reports and calculations.
• Utilizing AutoCAD, MicroStation, InRoads and/or Civil3D for the design of Transportation and Public Works Projects.
• Transforming concept designs into construction drawings and technical specifications.
• Represent "company" by meeting with clients, preparing and delivering presentations.

Required Education/Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.

Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of California.

10-15+ years of experience with skills to Navigate multi-disciplined Engineering Projects.

Current working knowledge in computer software utilized in the transportation industry MicroStation, InRoads, Civil3D and AutoCAD.

Familiar with CALTRANS, local agency and AASHTO design and procedures, regulatory compliance and agency coordination.
