Job Description

Job Summary:

Under general supervision, responsible for the delivery and on-going support of cross-category engineering and technology projects.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manages engineering projects from concept to installation and handover, including, but not limited to: client and supplier liaison, specification generation and approval, budget control, effective time management, etc.

  • Plans and coordinates projects across geographically diverse locations. This may include coordination and management of external and internal resources.

  • Determines project schedule by studying project plan and specifications, calculating time requirements, and sequencing project elements.

  • Confirms product performance by designing and authoring test protocols and execution of testing.

  • Provides support for global initiatives such as spare parts management, machine obsolescence management, ESG, etc.

  • Identifies areas of opportunity across the GSC manufacturing footprint, prepares proposals, and manages the execution/delivery of those projects once approval has been obtained.

  • Maintains project schedule by monitoring project progress, coordinating activities, and issue resolution.

  • Controls project plan by reviewing design, specifications, and plan, and scheduling changes, and recommending actions.

  • Controls project costs by approving expenditures and administering contractor contracts.

  • Prepares project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends, and recommending actions.

  • Partners with manufacturing to support manufacturing plant projects and needs.

  • Coordinates qualification and validation testing.

  • Maintains project data base by writing computer programs; entering and backing up data.

  • Maintains product and company reputation by complying with federal and state regulations.

  • Leads the development and implementation of new equipment to improve manufacturing efficiency.

  • Provides solutions for machinery installations and updates aligned with evolving legislation and legal requirements.

  • Provides support to business processes, e.g., capital planning.

  • Actively engages in Ops Engineering Global Task force.

  • Applies knowledge and best practices to make continuous improvement recommendations to drive results and provide input into best practice development.

  • Drives Global Engineering standards through awareness of supplier developments, engineering, and business strategies.

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Minimum Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and 5+ years related work experience.

  • Related work experience to include:

  • A minimum of 3 years engineering experience in an FMCG environment

  • Demonstrated project management skills and delivery of complex, high-value projects

Knowledge of:

  • Technical requirements gathering and business analysis

  • Manufacturing methods and procedures

  • Production and packaging operations

  • Design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.

  • Practical application of engineering science and technology.

  • Intermediate to Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, & PowerPoint) and Microsoft Teams

  • Evolving legislation relevant to machinery installations and upgrades, in order to supply solutions in line with legal requirements

  • Supplier developments and strategy

Preferred Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • Related experience to include:

  • Working within a regulated industry, e.g., automotive, aerospace, pharmaceuticals, etc.

  • Working with international suppliers

  • Problem solving, planning, and execution within a global manufacturing setting

Licenses and Certifications

PMI - PMP Certification

Knowledge of:

  • OSHE and machinery safety knowledge and experience in UL, CE regulations and PUWER risk analysis. Training certification is a plus (CSME)

  • Manufacturing process analysis (e.g, capacity, OEE calculations, etc)

  • Product design/implementation

  • Regulatory submissions

  • GMP

  • Deep understanding of the pFMEA process and how to generate manufacturing control plans

  • Generation of validation master plans and manufacturing control plans

  • Large manufacturing facilities and associated requirements

  • Building maintenance programs

  • Business acumen

  • AUTOCAD and/or similar drawing software

Ability to:

  • Communicate in Spanish and/or other languages

  • Read electrical and pneumatic drawings. Knowledge in PLC programming (Siemens, Allan Bradley, Beckhoff, etc), servo motors, safety circuits appreciated.

Work Environment and Physical Demand:

  • Requires moderate physical effort. Occasionally lifts or moves objects up to 50 lbs.

  • Walks, sits, or stands for extended periods.

  • Requires prolonged machine operation including vehicle, computer, and keyboard equipment.
