Job Description

Employer: Royal Appliance Manufacturing Company (dba TTI Floor Care North America)

Title: Senior NVH Engineer

Location: 8405 IBM Drive, Charlotte, NC 28262

• Perform NVH (Noise, Vibration, & Harshness) power and quality measurements, analyze data, and make recommendations for design improvements to Product Development teams.
• Develop analytical models using Ansys VRXperience or similar engineering simulation software to predict NVH levels of new or revised designs. Correlate digital models to physical test results.
• Lead Sound Quality studies to determine ideal sound for cleaner finished products. Translate customer subjective perceptions into objective quantifiable requirements.
• Lead NVH source identification studies to identify root cause of sound power and sound quality issues. Develop mitigation methods to improve NVH while maintaining or reducing product cost.
• Translate Product Management NVH soft requirements into objective, verifiable product requirements.
• Identify and implement leading-edge NVH best practices into TTI Floorcare's Advanced Development, New Product Development, and Sustaining Engineering design processes.
• Identify measurement and analysis equipment required to perform NVH analysis and work with strategic suppliers to procure.
• Represent TTI Floorcare on standards committees and other NVH consortia (ASTM, Acoustical Society of America, Institute of Noise Control Engineering).
• Document best practices and lead knowledge sharing sessions with subject matter experts and other practitioners within TTI Floorcare and across our strategic brands.
  

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's or equivalent degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering.
• 5 years of Noise, Vibration & Harshness (NVH) engineering experience.
• Must have experience with: NVH measurement, simulation and analysis; vibro-acoustics, analyzing sound and vibration and implementing corrective or preventative mitigation methods that reduce or eliminate impact to Consumers and the Environment; Finite Element Analysis (FEA); NVH modeling; working with handheld and complex lab data acquisition equipment; and working in anechoic/hemi-anechoic and reverberation chambers.
• Occasional domestic and international travel required to visit customers, suppliers and business partners.
