Job Overview
This position requires skills and experience managing engineering projects from concept to final product, meeting customer performance and schedule requirements, working within internal cost goals. Experience with multiple engineering disciplines including design of enclosures, electro-mechanical assemblies, thermal and stress modeling.
Duties:
Use Solidworks and EPDM to create 3D models and detail production prints.
Design sheet metal enclosures and chassis along with machined housings for electrical and optical assemblies.
Complete design changes and documentation on production parts.
Part of development team working to meet customer specifications, resolve concerns of manufacturability and to obtain regulatory approvals.
Optimize designs for manufacturability and provide production support for product released to manufacturing.
Perform thermal modeling and optimization.
Requirements:
BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum 5 years' experience in Design engineering.
High level of proficiency using 3D CAD software - Solidworks preferred.
Experience designing and detailing sheet metal assemblies and machined parts.
A good understanding of metal forming and assembly processes.
Ability to direct, coordinate and execute all phases including planning, organization, execution, integration and completion of engineering projects.
Experience with MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project and Visio).
Excellent communication skills.
This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22C.F.R. 120.15 are required. "US Person" includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, asylee. License exception Technology and software under restriction (TSR) defined in 15 CFR 740.6 may permit person from Country Group B.
