NBC News Group Digital's Quality Engineering Center of Excellence (CoE) is looking for an engineering leader to be a quality champion and expert on test tools, test process with solid understanding of news media, Web, API, Mobile & OTT apps technology. In this role, you will lead NBC News Group Digital's Quality Engineering Center of Excellence, collaborate with OKR teams to deliver product at speed with quality across various NBC News brands. Our brands include NBC News, Today, MSNBC, CNBC, E! News, and Telemundo Noticias.

Job Description

• Lead NBC News Group Digital's Quality Engineering Center of Excellence
• Provide leadership and technical expertise within NBC News Group Digital's Quality Engineering organization to enable continuous testing
• Develop processes and practices necessary to ship stable, scalable, secure software & platform changes more frequently at a predictable cost
• Collaborate with QE leaders across brands to enable OKR teams to deliver the expected quality, availability, reliability, security, and customer service for portfolio of NBC News Group digital applications
• Responsible for automation framework design, implementation, onboarding and managing test tools & automation infrastructure
• Define & incorporate best practices of the automation, security, and performance engineering
• Develop automation roadmap, work closely with brand QE leaders to implement it
• Leverage CI/CD pipelines to ensure high quality code keeps moving through the pipeline
• Define QE KPIs & metrics, conduct periodic reviews with brand QE leaders to ensure process compliance
• Partner with engineering teams to propose, rollout process improvements, new technologies and automation practices
• Work both independently and in close collaboration with platform & application teams and across the business to drive automation & bring efficiencies
• Collaborate with operations teams to enable continuous monitoring
• Collaborate & lead cross-functional team to achieve organizational goals
• People Management - Hiring/building quality engineering teams
• Responsible for knowledge management, mentoring and training quality engineers & leads

Qualifications

• B.S degree or higher in computer science or related education
• 5+ yrs. of experience in designing & implementing automation frameworks for Web, API, Mobile and OTT applications
• 3+ yrs. of experience in software engineering - Performance testing
• 2+ yrs. of experience in software engineering - Security testing
• Must be proficient in Java
• Must have experience implementing automation frameworks - (Selenium WebDriver/Appium/TestNG/Junit)
• Must have experience with performance testing tools to measure server & client-side metrics
• Must have experience setting up and managing test automation infrastructure on local (Appium/Selenium grid) and cloud
• Must have experience using Version control (GIT), SQL, CI/CD Tools (Jenkins), Build Tools (Maven, ANT, etc), Debugging Tools (Charles/Fiddler), Monitoring tools (New Relic), Agile Management Tool (JIRA), Test Management Tool (TestRail)
