The Maintainence Technician will be working within the Community Strategies Division throughout Massachusetts where we have over 40 group homes supporting adult male and femlaes with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The technician must possess excellent communication skills and have the ability to work effectively with various populations, including our clients as and staff of the program.
Responsibilities Senior Maintenance Technician is responsible to perform minor construction, general repairs, preventative maintenance and cleaning activities to equipment, utility systems and facilities as directed and in accordance with established procedures, approved practices and any applicable regulations.
Qualifications Senior Maintenance Technician Responsibilities
-Arrive on site prepared to work. Tools, keys, pagers, phones, safety equipment and uniforms (this includes ID/Access Badge) must be present, ready to operate (charged/have appropriate amount of battery available), be presentable and in full working order.
-Perform skilled trades work (carpentry, plumbing, minor electrical, HVAC, painting and the like)
-Perform corrective and preventative maintenance activities as directed
-Troubleshoot equipment related problems and offer repair solutions
-Communicate with supervisor(s) and participate in solution focused problem solving bringing individual experience and knowledge to discussions.
-Make periodic inspections of premises to determine repair work necessary
-Document corrective and preventative maintenance activities as required
-Clear and clean job sites thoroughly upon completion of repairs/installations
-Complete projects in a timely manner
-Respond to work requests to resolve problems with a positive attitude
-Respond to emergencies as needed.
-Move offices/furniture as needed
-Will, at times, supervise vendors and contractors
-Assure performance standards are met or exceeded
Senior Maintenance Technician Qualifications
-3-5 years of related experience required
-Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and overtime as required
-Able to handle multiple priorities with efficiency, accuracy and at times, very limited supervision
-Ability to prioritize projects and tasks a must
-Must be a high school graduate or equivalent
-Must be able to read, write and perform basic math
-Excellent customer service skills
-Must possess good written and verbal communication skills
-Must be proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
-Able to relate positively with clients, residents, employees, supervisors, vendors and contractors
-Must have and maintain clean driving record and valid driver's license as condition of continued employment
-Must have and maintain insured auto as condition of continued employment.
-Other duties as assigned
