General Description: The Senior Key Access Coordinator manages the locksmith services with specific responsibility for the administration of the distribution of keys, managing the key and lock databases. Supervises the repair, alteration, installation and keying of locks on buildings, rooms, equipment, resolving immediate operational and/or safety concerns, and ensuring security of the college facilities. Also, will perform minor maintenance and repairs as necessary and assist other skilled trades. Duties and Tasks: •Manages and coordinates the key and lock services and distribution. •May perform minor maintenance and repairs of locks and lock cores or manage necessary repairs by outside contractor. •Maintains electronic database, utilizing Key Wizard, to track detailed information on keys, keyholders, and locations. •Plans install, maintains and develops all lock and key systems in an electronic format for immediate systems access and control. •Assist project team with key/rekeying projects. •Request code cut or duplicate keys from the appropriate contractors. •Repairs or replaces broken or damaged lock cores, re-key locks to different control and master keys, access and replace all types of locks and maintain records of mechanical lock inventor including keyholders, campus, building, and location.. •Keeps detailed records for parts, work orders, daily assignment logs, parts, hardware. •Works under limited supervision using standardized practices and/or methods; providing information and/or advising others, •Operates within a defined budget. •Participates in meetings, workshops, training, and seminars for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform job functions Essential Functions: Manage overall responsibility for the daily operations and actions for the college key control program including operational, budgetary, financial accountability, inventory, and control of campus keys. Special Assignments May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor. KSA's/Required Qualifications Required KSAs: Must be familiar with multiple key systems including installation, maintenance, and repair. Must be able to interpret, implement, and maintain a pre-defined master key system. Must be capable of managing secured master key systems such as Sargent XC series locks and Key Wizard software and other lock and key databases. Must have an understanding of electronic access control devices. Must have knowledge of master key systems and key management database system. Must have strong oral and written communication skills. Must have the ability to follow instructions. Must be able to read plans and blueprints. Must be able to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures Must have an understanding of electronic access control devices. Must have good computer skills. Must be able to work with other departments including campus police department, trades and college staff, to respond and communicate to request in a timely manner. Minimum Qualifications: High School graduate or equivalent Significant locksmith experience. Previous experience managing and maintaining key control databases Valid driver's license and good driving record. Preferred Qualifications Possess Certified Master Locksmith certification.
