Job Description

We are looking for a hands-on, experienced, self-motivated, and team oriented Hardware Development Manager to drive the development and validation of existing and next generation Solid State Memory Drives.


As a Solidigm Hardware Engineering Manager, you will lead a team of professional engineers as well as work with cross-functional teams (Software/Firmware, Chip/SoC development and validation/quality) to create top in class products.


As a manager, in this role, you will be expected to lead and mentor the team, pass down key program and company information to the teams, and ensure solid design practices and methodologies are being adhered too. Focus areas include memory device technologies, high-speed digital design (DDR, ONFI NAND, PCIe), power supply design, project management skill and supplier/customer relationships.


  • 10+ years of design experience
  • 5+ years Managing design teams
  • Full cycle experience designing high volume, cost competitive products
  • Experience working with remote design/development centers
  • Electro-mechanical and thermal system design background
  • High speed design experience
  • Working closely with stakeholders to plan, prioritize, and deliver constantly evolving customers product roadmap
  • Experience designing for manufacturability
  • 3+ years experience with Contract Manufacturers and 3rd party suppliers
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams to execute product designs on-time and on budget.
  • Recruiting and hiring engineers to build a successful engineering team
  • BS or MS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Contribute to customer escalations / field resolutions including, troubleshooting, containment actions, failure analysis, and corrective actions
  • Develop and communicate priorities across multiple projects to meet organizational goals
  • Working knowledge of PLM systems, product structures and configurations
  • Knowledge of Engineering Change Management Process, Project Management tools, and Value Engineering concepts
  • Demonstrated decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Manage and communicate requirements, critical path, and schedules
  • Lead and mentor hardware engineers to develop and enhance career paths for each team member
