Senior Fertilizer Technician in Austin, Texas

Job Description:

As a sales representative at HEROES Lawn Care, you will be responsible for lawn care services in your territory. A successful fertilizer tech, will be able to spot concerns, find the solution and maintain a healthy lawn for the customer. You will be required to work with different treatment plans on a number of different types of property. Fertilizer Technician ensure the safety and appropriate application of chemical products and fertilizer to enhance the quality of our clients lawn.

Responsibilities:

• Fertilizer Technician ensure the safety and appropriate application of chemical products and fertilizer to enhance the quality of our clients lawn
• Production goals-works diligently with upper level management in obtaining monthly production goals
• Identification-of insects, weeds, and diseases as it relates to job function and implement appropriate control solutions
• Communication-able to interact with clients and also branch personnel as to activities as it relates to the clients
• Equipment and Warehouse-ensures standards of cleanliness are being adhered to daily
• Responsible for organization of equipment and products in your assigned vehicle
• Ensures proper disposal of all fertilizer residue and containers
• Safety-responsible for personal, equipment and vehicular safety as it relates to job requirements
• Provide service to residential customers by making lawn applications, diagnosing and correcting lawn problems through service calls and other customer communications
• Perform all functions of the lawn care position with crew members
• Using herbicides, fertilizer and other applications for lawn care health
• Follow a daily schedule, ensuring timely arrival at each account (A company vehicle is provided)
• Support others with obtaining lawn care licensure by providing one-on-one coaching and instruction
• Assisting in sales to current and new customers through contact on route
• Measuring the lawn of potential customers to provide with an accurate cost
• Providing additional services through aeration, soil amendment, and over seeding

Required Qualifications:

• A landscape professional with the ability to be highly functional in a team environment, as well as able to perform with minimum supervision and direction
• Two to three years of experience in Fertilization and Chemicals required
• Must have a sense of ownership of responsibilities
• Must be able to diagnose insect and disease issues in the field
• Must have a clean driving record and pass internal insurance background check too drive a company vehicle

• High energy, positive attitude, and forward thinking
• Strong team player and the ability to excel in a fast paced environment
• Meet or exceed sales goals
• State issued licensing requirement for pesticide application or obtain one in 60 days

Preferred Qualifications:

• Requires 100 % proficiency in product offerings.
• Must be able to demonstrate willingness to be flexible and adapt to change
• Ability to follow policy and procedures
• Must be able to resolve problems, handle conflict and make effective decisions under pressure.

• Stand; walk; sit; twist; use hands to handle; reach with hands and arms; push; pull; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk and hear.
• Lift, move, and hold up to approximately 50 lbs.
• Must be able to work a full-time, flexible schedule with on call availability and must be able to travel on short notice.
• Must be able to drive a motor vehicle (day and evenings) for extended time periods
