Senior Estimator (Heavy Civil) Requisition ID : SKA000DW9 Skanska, one of the leading heavy-civil construction engineering companies in the US, is seeking expert Estimators who desire to be part of a talented team bidding outstanding projects across the western United States. The Sr. Estimator collaborates with the Estimating Manager and project teams throughout the Western Region in development of competitive cost estimates and proposals for the procurement of large urban projects across the Western United States. This position is responsible for delivering competitive cost estimates on new bids and reviewing the progress of existing projects to ensure their completion within the parameters of the established project budget. The successful Sr. Estimator candidate will: have broad experience and a thorough understanding of heavy civil construction estimating; will be a self-starter; will be capable of developing major estimates with little supervision. Sr. Estimators must be able to meet critical deadlines and be able to lead and mentor others in a positive team environment. Strong knowledge in HCSS bidding processes for large scale construction projects is a plus. What You'll Do: + Conduct initial analysis of drawings and specifications to ensure required documentation is present and determine scope of work + Develop full-scope estimates based on Bid-Build, Design-Build or CM/GC construction documents + Critically analyze bid documents and understand risk and opportunities and articulate those to management + Organize the bid team, providing leadership and direction with regards to means and methods, schedule and strategy + Participate in technical proposals for Alternative Delivery projects + Gather and monitor actual cost vs. estimated cost, maintaining project cost history + Provide detailed quantity take off of specific trades when required + Create detailed crew and production cost estimates and review prices with Estimating Manager We're Looking For: + Knowledge and efficiency in the following Software: Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, HCSS Heavy Bid, Primavera P6, AutoCAD 3D, Agtek or similar Takeoff Software. + Enthusiasm and passion for estimating. We are looking for positive, skillful individuals that are excited to be part of dynamic teams that take on enormous challenges and produce superior cost estimates.
