What you will do
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Responsible to drive the optimization of equipment utilization, process area capacity, manufacturing processes performance, and space utilization.
- Manage the Business Cases strategic capacity process.
- Develop manufacturing execution policies to maximize process area throughput, minimize Work in Progress (WIP) and minimize operational costs.
- Responsible to drive process area direct headcount planning.
- Identify, drive and/or lead continuous improvement opportunities and assist in the prioritization of improvement projects.
- Apply Operational Excellence concepts, methodologies, and tools to identify ways to continuously improve performance in Manufacturing and Support areas.
- Supports and performs analyses related to Lean and Six Sigma projects (benefits/risks)
- Facilitates Lean/Six Sigma training for Site staff.
- Provide coaching on Lean practices and behaviors to manufacturing and support staff, including Kaizen, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), Visual Management, 5S, Mistake Proofing, Standard Work, etc.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams on improvement projects
- Facilitate department strategy and goals development sessions
- Support new product introductions or new technology introductions by performing industrial engineering assessments regarding capacity, staffing, layout and impact to manufacturing systems.
- Assist area management in the decision-making process by performing detailed quantitative analysis for the evaluation of multiple alternatives
- Communicate and reports capacity and labor assessments, projects updates, problem-solving issues, and/or performance indicators to upper management and/or network-supporting groups

Basic Qualifications:
Doctorate degree in Engineering
Or
Masters degree in Engineering and 3 years of experience in Engineering
Or
Bachelors degree in Engineering and 5 years of experience in Engineering
Preferred Qualifications:
- Educational background in Industrial Engineering
- Working knowledge of pharmaceutical/biotech processes
- Lean and/or Six Sigma Green Belt Certified.
- Demonstrated experience in Lean Manufacturing, and/or Six Sigma concepts, methodologies, and tools.
- Previous experience in effectively using the OEE indicator for continuous improvements.
- Self-starter highly motivated individual that can work under minimal supervision
- Communication (both written and verbal), facilitation, and presentation skills in Spanish and English
- Project management skills with a proven record of creating and leading cross-functional teams from project development to the closure stage
- Experience working with long and short-term strategic capacity planning, labor models, and new product introduction capacity assessments
- Demonstrated skills in the following areas:
- Analytical problem solving
- Dealing with and managing change
- Schedule development
- Computer proficiency (Excel, Minitab, Visio, MS Project, PowerPoint, Word, etc.)
