What you will do

Lets do this. Lets change the world! In this vital role you lead the process optimization strategies and/or troubleshooting of operational and equipment issues in the manufacturing plant, or capital projects environment. Apply expertise and diverse engineering principles to the design and implementation of major system modifications, experiments, process and/or capital projects. Develop, organize, analyze and present interpretation of results for operational issues or engineering projects of critical scope and complexity in a non-standard shift operations.

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Complete complex or novel assignments requiring development of new and/or improved engineering techniques and procedures.

  • Develop engineering procedures that impact multiple organizational units.

  • May lead, coordinate and review work of a small staff of engineers, associates and/or technicians on an ongoing basis as well as on a project basis.

  • Employ advanced engineering techniques and/or modifications within area of engineering expertise.

  • Apply knowledge of engineering principles and practices outside of area of expertise to broad variety of assignments in related fields.

  • Serves as a peer-recognized engineering technology specialist in at least one area, with overall responsibility for determining methodologies in that area.

  • Work with research, manufacturing, process development, maintenance, automation, utilities, facilities, quality assurance and validation departments in developing recommendations for large and/or highly complex systems/facility modifications.

  • Develop technical solutions to complex problems using the regular use of ingenuity and initiative.

  • Support 7/24 non-standard shift operation including extended hours and weekends as per business needs.

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree in Engineering

Or

Masters degree in Engineering & 3 years of manufacturing process support experience in a regulated industry

Or

Bachelors degree in Engineering & 5 years of manufacturing process support experience in a regulated industry

Beyond that, additional preferred qualifications are:
  • Engineering degree in Mechanical, Electrical and/or Chemical fields

  • Working knowledge of chemical/pharmaceutical/biotech manufacturing processes, reliability or maintenance.

  • Solid understanding on process equipment, including troubleshooting and equipment reliability.

  • Familiarity and understanding with validation protocols requirements and documentation

  • Excellent presentation and communication skills in Spanish and English.

  • Process optimization knowledge and Operational Excellence mentality.

  • Skills in the following areas: Technical writings, problem solving, organizational changes, digital literacy, project management, and conflict resolution

  • Negotiation, persuasion and facilitation Collaboration experience.

  • Team building leadership skills.

  • Schedule and resources loading development experience.
