Job Overview
Senior Energy Engineer, Michigan
As a senior energy engineer with Energy Sciences, you will join our team of degreed and licensed engineers, scientists, and energy efficiency professionals to meet the energy use challenges of large industrial and commercial facilities. We're looking for experienced and talented technical team members to assist our clients, from small businesses to Fortune 500 companies, in making their building systems work, identifying energy-saving opportunities, reducing waste, and saving money. You will play a key role in a growing company that is dedicated to driving our vision of a sustainable and socially responsible energy future, working in an exciting, collaborative environment.
This position has a home-based office in the State of Michigan. Up to 30% local travel within the state of Michigan is required. A local or willing to relocate candidate is required.
Your background
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
- PE and CEM certifications are required.
- PMP certification is a plus
- Fifteen to twenty (or more) years of experience with:
Industrial and commercial facility energy audits
Carbon neutral feasibility studies and energy audits
Engineering and economic analyses based on trending, bin weather data, and regression analysis
ASHRAE level I, II, III energy auditing for commercial and industrial facilities
Process, HVAC, and lighting assessments to identify energy savings opportunities
Utility company energy efficiency rebates programs experience is a plus
Knowledge of buildings systems including HVAC, pumps, chilled water, hot water, steam, industrial processes, refrigeration, and compressed air
Working on-site with commercial and industrial customers and trade contractors
Writing technical reports and delivering presentations
Utilizing tools such as Microsoft Office and advanced skills using Excel
Managing project scope, schedule, and budget
Project management
Day to day
Conducting industrial facilities energy efficiency assessments and site surveys.
Identifying and quantifying energy efficiency opportunities for processes, HVAC and lighting.
Performing energy and economic analyses. (Pricing, savings, incentive, ROI)
Develop conceptual and preliminary scope of work for energy efficiency measures
Collaborating with customers, assisting with technical questions and developing projects.
Preparing reports and delivering presentations.
Mentoring other technical team members to teach energy engineering fundamentals.
