Job Overview
Position Summary
Actively participate at a senior design level in the development of the company's next generation of industrial electromechanical actuators and motor drives for high reliability applications. Provide technical leadership in all development phases from prototyping in the R&D lab, to qualification testing, manufacturing, and supporting our customer in the field. Collaborate with other talented engineers and work directly with manufacturing, sales and marketing, and other colleagues to provide critical solutions in hydraulic and pneumatic controls for aerospace and industrial gas turbine applications.
Responsibilities
Develop brushless DC motor drives using various topologies and techniques to achieve an efficient, reliable, EMI/EMC compliant design.
Propose solutions to customer applications and lead the hardware design, development, testing and certification of motor drives and actuators.
Design and layout of power electronics, including PCB & schematic design.
Provide technical expertise in all phases of the product development cycle which includes requirements definition, design and development, verification and transfer to production.
Education and Experience
BSEE degree, MSEE preferred, and 5 + years of related experience.
Knowledge of mechanical/thermal/packaging design for industrial electronics, electrical safety standards, EMI and hazardous location compliance.
Willingness to travel on a limited basis.
