SENIOR DIRECTOR PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT ENGINEERING

The Role

Lead the Datacenter Video Acceleration R&D organization within the AMD AECG business unit. In collaboration with our marketing and sales teams, you be responsible to establish our acceleration products with customers and grow the business to > $500M over next 3-4 years

The Person

You will be responsible to oversee all aspects of Video product engineering: SoC architecture, encoder and video processing algorithm development, in-house ASIC IP development, production software development (firmware, runtime, SDK), product QA plus release management & delivery

Key Responsibilities

• You will be responsible for complete lifecycle management for all products in the video portfolio
• You will be expected to oversee our next generation SoC program. This include SoC architecture, power, cost and schedule tradeoffs, node and vendor selection, IP procurement, and financial model ROI to align with business investment parameters
• You are expected to be a savvy business leader able to effectively engage with strategic customers to establish existing products and shape our strategy and roadmap to grow and expand our market
• Must be a demonstrated seasoned leader able to lead a team of 70+ developers plus manage strategic ASIC vendors/development partners. Must continuously develop and maintain a high performing organization and recruit qualified talent as needed and as the business affords
• As a senior leader within the AECG BU, you are expected to be a visible and collaborative thought leader within the organization on datacenter technology and strategy

Preferred Experience In Following Tools/flows

• 15+ years of ASIC product development experience
• Proven track record in engineering execution excellence
• Proven people leadership, demonstrated ability to build and sustain strong teams
• Proven business leadership, demonstrated ability to introduce innovative products and grow revenue
• Excellent communication skills - oral, written and executive presence
• Familiarity and experience within the video processing market

Academic Credentials

• BS/MS (Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related equivalent)
