GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The Senior Cost Estimator / Spec Writer is responsible for developing cost estimates and contract specifications for the Architectural and Water Resources Strategic Business Units and manages the bidding process.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The list of specific duties and responsibilities is intended to be representative of the tasks performed within this classification. • Develop bidding and procurement specifications utilizing AIA and EJCDC documents.
• Assist Engineers and Architects in technical specification writing and production of final documents for bidding.
• Perform takeoff of construction documents, apply unit prices to quantities and finalize construction estimates both for water/wastewater and architecture.
• Upload and distribute documents to bidders, receive and forward RFI's to appropriate persons for response, and prepare addenda developed by Engineers and Architects.
• Specification production for federal programs, specifically SpecIntact.

JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• At least 5 years of related experience in architecture and environmental work.
• Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience using NewForma Project Center, SpecLink Cloud and SpecIntact a plus but not required.
