Job Description
Senior Control Technician
Location: Sinton, TX
Schedule: Monday - Friday
Position Summary
A Senior Technician's duties include retrofitting, installing, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical and automated controls, and any other associated equipment within ie communications equipment, which is tied into the PLC software or any controlling device ie flow computers. The Senior Technician will be utilizing numerous tools and equipment to maintain and repair a variety of electrical systems and instruments, such process equipment instrumentation, control systems, drives ( VFD), communication and data systems, counters, and speed indicators. The Senior Technician will need to learn health and safety operations and responsibilities related to handling industrial electrical equipment.
In addition, the ideal candidate will have several advanced technical skills, this could be in Controls Tech, Measurement Tech ( Liquid or gas), SCADA Tech ( Communications) and Instrumentation Tech ( Heavy in the Instrumentation of Oil/Gas, Commercial Industrial, or Heavy Industrial).
Requirements And Experience

• Must have a minimum 5+ yrs. experience in Automation Instrumentation or Process Controls in any industry.
• Must have PLC knowledge or work experience in any industry that requires PLC.
• Must have experience in PLC panel, and know how to connect to by terminations of wire or cables and must know all the components connected to the PLC.
• Programming experience is not required, but knowledge in that application helpful.
• Must have extensive experience in Emerson, ABB, Siemens, Rockwell and Schneider products.
• Must know or have knowledge in Electrical i.e., Motor Controls
• Must know how to read schematics i.e., P&ID Loop, and Drawings
• Must have Electrical experience ie materials, conduit, wire, controls wire, etc.
• Must have experience in using Process meters, and testing equipment ie 789 Process meter and or a 479 Hart communicator.
• Able to work with no supervision.
• Flexible on schedule and travel
• Cooperative and willing to take direction.
• Prior experience in Oil/Gas, Commercial Industrial, Heavy manufacturing environment, especially in roles related to systems repair and troubleshooting
• Experience with complex mechanical, pneumatic, and computerized systems
  

Education And Qualifications

• Bachelors or Associate degree in instrumentation technology preferred or related on the job experience at least 5+ yrs.
• Excellent communication skills, problem-solving and math skills
