Job Overview

A professional services firm in New York City is currently seeking an experienced Auditor, with a strong background servicing Construction-related clients, for a promising Senior-level position with their growing staff. In this role, the Senior Construction Auditor will be responsible for audit and consulting services to construction, contractors, and/or construction-related clients.

Responsibilities

The Senior Construction Auditor will:

  • Coordinate the various phases of an engagement, including staff requirements, engagement planning, scheduling, etc.
  • Study and evaluate the internal controls, organization, systems or other appropriate items and prepare / review the audit program
  • Assign work to existing staff members on the basis of their knowledge and capabilities and supervise them on projects
  • Review with Manager or Senior Manager / Director any significant audit findings, financial statement presentation or other matters
  • Prepare or review financial statements, notes, schedules, management letters, income tax returns, reports, programs, systems, policies and procedures for discussion with the client
  • Supervise the observation of inventory counts
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of recent or current Audit experience within a CPA firm
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
  • Experience servicing Construction clients
  • Previous experience with Financial Statement Preparation, GAAP, GAAS, and Internal Controls
  • Microsoft Excel proficient
  • Solid analytical, mathematical, and research skills
  • Great interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Highly organized
  • Able to multitask efficiently and effectively
