Job Purpose
To support the development of and track progress for the transformation roadmap to execute on National Grid's Fossil-Free Strategy for heat. The role will work collaboratively across National Grid to ensure transparency and alignment of various activities within the "future of heat" roadmap and provide strategic insight and recommendations to the business and other key internal and external stakeholders.

Key Accountabilities
• Translate high-level corporate strategy on the "future of heat" into strategic plans and roadmaps for the gas business and provide planning support for tactical activities such as changes to investment programs, new talent capabilities, and RD&D agendas.
• Support, track, and provide analysis to the Gas Business to meet National Grid's future of heat vision targets in 2025 and 2030. This includes establishing a roadmap, scorecard, and stakeholder management plan.
• Work closely with Customer, Gas Asset Management & Engineering, Energy Procurement, and other teams on developing programs and pilots.
• Work closely with US Strategy, Regulatory Strategy, Corporate Affairs, and Change Management on internal and external engagement for "future of heat".
• Support the Future of Heat Director by providing business intelligence/analytical support and creating materials for various governance meetings - Strategy and performance boards, steering committees, etc.
• Provide further insight into "Future of Heat" strategy by identifying critical questions and performing ad-hoc analysis.
• Support tracking and stakeholder alignment on pilot/program ideas and provide appropriate support and analysis.
• Provide support and analysis for rate case proposals and energy policy priorities for external engagement.
• Stay informed on the latest relevant industry developments and represent National Grid in relevant industry and public forums.

Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree Required
• 3+ years' experience in the energy industry that includes strategy development and execution, transformation initiatives/programs, and/or stakeholder/change management.
• Experience conducting presentations to senior leadership/stakeholders
• Familiarity with decarbonization pathways, clean energy policies, and natural gas industry
• Understanding of current trends within the gas utility industry, particularly regarding energy efficiency, demand response, heat electrification, renewable natural gas, and hydrogen.
• Change and Project Management experience a plus
• Strong MS Office skills
• Valid driver's license
• Strong interpersonal skills - Able to build relationships quickly and to influence at all levels of the organization and the program
• Critical thinking and problem solving - Need to be able to draw sound conclusions from quantitative and qualitative data sources, quickly identifying relevant information to solve specific business problems
• Organizational / Project Management skills with proven experience of delivering quality outcomes, on time and with full transparency of risks, issues, and assumptions
• Good business acumen with appreciation of the day-to-day business challenges of the US Gas Business
• Self-starter, able to work well with others, and on own initiative, to successfully drive through ambiguity
