Job Overview
FACILITY CARETAKER POSITION
Self Storage New Mexico is looking for a motivated individual for a part-time position as an independent contractor (1099). Our facility caretaker will be asked to visit our two sites in Clovis, NM each week and perform duties listed below. Monthly hours will vary but are likely to be between 10-20 hours per month.
Location: Clovis, New Mexico
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Oversee tenant move-in and move-out:
Perform any "overlocks" or remove any "overlocked" units.
Cut off any locks that are on unrented units.
In rare cases, assist tenants as needed for access to see units prior to renting, showing them the facility and how the gate works.
Be responsible for facility maintenance and cleanliness:
Clean vacated units on a timely basis, prepare units for future rentals and maintain general cleanliness, such as grounds being free of debris or trash.
Work to ensure the maintenance of the facility is well kept:
Lighting is proper, gates are functioning properly, any rollup doors are fixed in a timely manner, etc
Perform or coordinate maintenance repairs
Report unsafe conditions, practices, operations, and defective equipment to on-site manager and/or owners.
Miscellaneous:
Weekly surveillance of property to ensure the protection of customers' stored possessions, as well as company property and buildings.
Have a weekly communication with on-site manager and/or owners to address any and all of the above.
The successful candidate will have:
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Ability to communicate and interact professionally with on-site manager, owners and customers.
Ability to make basic repairs and use simple tools and equipment, a plus.
A general knowledge of site management that includes customer service skills and daily operational knowledge (will provide some training).
A reliable smartphone to complete weekly reports with photos & videos if needed.
Availability to attend to urgent matters
Their own transport and tools.
Lawn and grounds maintenance capability is a plus (i.e.-weed eater, mower, blower).

Pay: $350.00 - $450.00 per month
