The sanitation worker is a member of a cleaning crew whose duties are to clean and sanitize all areas and equipment in the food processing plant to meet food safety, and quality standards of Client as well as any regulatory body. The sanitation worker is expected to disassemble and clean processing equipment without causing damage to any parts. The sanitation worker is required to visually inspect the equipment and processing areas for cleanliness.

The sanitation worker is required to work in an environment that is wet, humid and undergoes temperature changes, from hot to cold. The sanitation worker will also be working around processing equipment in which chemicals will be used to complete the sanitation process. The sanitation worker must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. frequently during their shift and be on their feet for the duration of their shift.

The sanitation worker must perform all duties in compliance with USDA, DDA, OSHA, state and/or local regulations. Company policies and procedures include: safety guidelines and the use of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's) and Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs) and must be adhered to.

Additional duties may include emptying trash bins and cleaning trash area daily, and operating trash compactor when applicable. The sanitation worker may clean other areas of the facility that would include warehouse, offices, break rooms, rest rooms, and test kitchens, along with any additional duties as required by the supervisor.
