What You'll Work On With a focus on expanding Campbell Scientific's presence in the North American Surface Transportation market the Sales Engineer expands the sales of Campbell Scientific (CSI) products by generating new business and ensuring growth of existing customer accounts. This position will primarily focus on working with state Departments of Transportation and municipalities to help satisfy their instrumentation and monitoring needs. Assesses potential application of CSI products and services and offers solutions that meet customer needs. Educates customers and communicates customer feedback for future product development. Uses technical knowledge of CSI products and services to support and build sales. Through proven technical, sales, and business skill, the Sales Engineer executes this role to the highest level of performance. You Will Support Your Team By Performing the Following Key Tasks -- Demonstrated ability to achieve aggressive sales goals in a geographic territory
-- Proven success in managing key customer accounts
-- Be regarded as a highly trusted advisor in the Surface Transportation market with primary emphasis on RWIS applications, and secondarily on Aviation Weather Observation Systems.
-- Configure and quote complex RWIS data acquisition systems and multi-station networked solutions in collaboration with customer needs
-- Exhibits a broad and deep knowledge of measurement instrumentation products and services across a variety of markets and applications
-- Recognize and report on market intelligence and trends that could influence product development and sales strategy
-- Contributes to the success of the sales team by mentoring others What We're Looking For -- Post-secondary degree or diploma in:
- Sciences (examples: Meteorology, Geology, Environmental Sciences, etc.)
- Engineering (examples: Mechanical, Electrical, Civil)
- Technology (examples: Engineering or Electronics Tech,)
-- Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered
-- A strong knowledge of instrumentation and its broad range of scientific applications
-- Three to five years of technical sales or related industry or field experience
-- Someone who places importance on working hard, having fun, and building great relationships with your peers -- Aligned with our ARCTIC Values (Accountability, Respect, Client-centric, Teamwork, Innovation and Continuous Improvement) -- Someone who places importance on working hard, having fun, and building great relationships with their peers Work environment This is primarily an office environment. May travel up to 20 - 25% on customer visits or trade shows. Physical requirements Must be able to lift, carry, and maneuver up to 50 lbs. walking up and down stairs; sitting or standing for extended periods of time; extended walking while in the field.
