Summary:
This position is primarily responsible for assisting in the management of Maintenance projects for the residential properties that Shelter operates in Minnesota. The Roving Maintenance person may assist in coordinating the work of Maintenance Technicians at the property locations.
Job Responsibilities and Essential Duties:
The Roving Maintenance Technician will work closely with the Regional Maintenance Supervisor to assess critical areas for work orders, review any updates to the property, and assist with scheduling extensive maintenance.
The Roving Maintenance person will make recommendations for cost reduction and savings to property maintenance programs.
May contact outside Vendors, take bids or assist in the bidding process for special projects or extensive maintenance, assist in the review of Maintenance contracts and supply pricing.
Assist with new employee (Maintenance) orientation and training and may assist with on call scheduling as needed.
Qualifications for Maintenance Technician at Shelter Corporation:
High school Diploma, equivalent degree, or relevant experience required
Some related technical or vocational training anc ertificaiton is desired
A minimum of 5 years of Maintenance Technician experience as well as experience in all phases of building maintenance to include appliance repair, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry and preventative maintenance
Exemplary time management skills, the ability to self-direct, and the willingness to learn and assist above and beyond as part of "the team"
A clean driving record and be able to complete
Maintain licensing for particular tasks (e.g. CPO, pest control applicator, etc.) as needed
