We are seeking multiple robotics engineer and technician team members to support our rapidly growing automation program. This posting is for a Robotics Project Engineer which would be ideal for a recent graduate out of an automation-focused program, or someone with limited industrial robot experience. In this position you will be jumping into a wide range of projects and activities, including building and testing proof-of-concept applications, supporting technology research efforts, and providing all-around engineering support to the Automation Team. This role requires someone who:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Working closely with subject matter experts to develop and build demonstration and prototype automation systems, training cells, and more
Learn and operate a wide variety of equipment across the site as needed to support project work, such as 3D printers, fabrication equipment, and measurement and inspection systems
Using CAD and simulation software packages to design and edit basic components and validate system concepts
Investigating technology options through OEM/vendor discussions and internet research
Prepare documentation, reports, and presentations on project work, technology learning, operating procedures, etc.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

Experience working with robots and/or cobots, either in industry or through school
Experience working with one of more supporting automation technologies, such as vision systems, PLC's, sensors, end-of-arm-tooling, etc.
Solidworks or Autodesk CAD skills, including the ability to design and edit basic parts and assemblies
Collaborative robot experience such as with Universal Robots, Doosan, Fanuc, etc.
Coding experience for industrial applications, specifically Python.
CNC machine setup and/or programming experience
Ability to effectively deliver results while working in a diverse multi-disciplinary project team that may consist of both internal and client resources
Ability to identify and analyze problems, gather and sort relevant data, and process data logically to determine preferred solutions
Excellent oral and written communication skills with ability to deliver presentations at conferences, consortia meetings, client meetings, or internal meetings
Demonstrated ability to prepare written reports and PowerPoint reports
Utilizes judgment in communication styles and behaviors, recognizes impact on other team members and the client
Strong ability to plan and organize tasks
Willingness to travel periodically (up to 15%) to customers and conferences

EDUCATION:

B.S. in an Engineering or other related technical field of study
A trade school or other non-degreed background may be considered with additional experience

EXPERIENCE:

Experience with various stages of robotic/automation system development, building, operating, and troubleshooting robotic/automation systems
