REQUIREMENT
The ARCTOS Technology and Product Labs is currently seeking an experienced and skilled mechanical engineer to join our technology development and deployment team. You will be working in a small applied engineering and process development environment related to aerospace materials, materials and manufacturing process development with an emphasis on PLC and robotic programming, digital sensors, and data processing. Responsibilities include working on all stages of a process, from research and product design to fabrication, installation, and evaluation.
A successful candidate will be a highly creative individual with the ability to develop innovative solutions to our clients' problems and communicate technical ideas in a clear manner, both visually and verbally. Proposal writing, technical reporting and presentations, and customer communications are necessary skills.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Designing, fabricating, and installing components that fulfill requirements.
- Analyzing problems or deficiencies and developing solutions to resolve them.
- Developing prototype systems and technologies.
- Conducting experiments and evaluations to improve and innovate product designs.
- Creating plans and designs and manufacturing drawings using CAD technology.
- Estimating budgets and time scopes for each project.
- Writing proposals, reports, and technical documentation.
- Collaborating with other companies and subcontractors.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Experience with 3D scanning, point cloud data and post-processing of scan data and models.
- Experience with Universal Robots URscript programming is desired
- Knowledge of Additive Manufacturing, welding, and material processes is a plus.
EDUCATIONAL, CLEARANCE AND CERTIFICATION:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering (master's preferred).
- 5+ years' experience working in the aerospace mechanical engineering field.
- Superior computer skills, with solid experience in CAD, PLC Logic, Python, C++ programming languages, and Matlab/LabView programs.
- Ability to run simulations and analyze test data.
- Ability to write clear and comprehensive technical documentation.
- Highly analytical mind, with exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Must be U.S. Citizen with ability to maintain a security clearance
PHYSICAL/WORKING ENVIRONMENT
- Office and electronic laboratory environments
TRAVEL
- Travel (10-20%) is required and will be performed under the guidelines of Federal Travel Regulations (FTR) and/or Joint Travel Regulations (JTR).
