Position: Rewinder/Inspection (Warehouse)
Reports to: Shift Supervisor
2nd Shift Hours: Monday - Thursday (1:55pm - 11:55pm)
Key Objective: To be a team player while creating some of the best labels in the country with attention to detail in rewinding and/or inspection.
Skills/Training:
Self-starter
Ability to work in a fast paced environment
Computer literacy preferred
Competency Requirements
Ability to read ruler measurements
Basic math skills with calculator
Detail orientated for visually recognizing defects
Ability to lift 50 pounds
Experience:
Quality Control Inspection experience a plus
Experience on a Rotoflex, CEI or Arpeco Rewinders (Preferred)
Responsibilities:
Inspect and rewind production per schedule board, Shipping Priority List and/or special requests to customer specifications listed on the Job Ticket.
Verify the finished size measurements. Measure labels to ensure job ticket requirements.
Conduct visual inspection during rewind. Identify non-conformances. Segregate nonconforming and mark as "Reject". Questionable non-conformances should be brought to the attention of the Account Executive, Customer Service Representative, Quality Control Leadperson, or Manager.
Complete Nonconforming Materials Report per current rejection requirements and procedure. Submit to Quality Control Leadperson for approval.
Complete all pertinent start-up information on the Rewind/Inspection Checklist prior to beginning any job. Finish checklist after inspection.
Record production information on back of Job Tickets.
Enter production information into the Production File of computer. Print core tags.
Identify incomplete jobs. Return jobs to production as needed.
Accurately measure dimensions and complete documentation for First Article Inspections as required per customer specification.
Perform quality checks and job approval/verification at press as needed.
Maintain rewind machine with acetate or degreaser. Complete daily Maintenance Log.
Rework as requested.
Will work overtime upon request.
Identify inefficiencies and communicate to Quality Control Leadperson.
Actively participate in department meetings.
Follow policies, procedures and work instructions.
Education:
High School diploma or GED
Physical Requirements:
Take press rolls from press on a cart to rewind machine.
Lifting will be from 1 lb to 80 lbs.
Lift press roll up and on shaft. This is about 12" from the floor. Roll lifts are available
Put into finished rolls as customer requested (per job ticket).
These finish rolls could have anywhere from 10 labels to 10,000 or more on a roll.
Lift rolls off machine onto the table.
Weight of finished rolls could be from about 1 lb to 25 lbs (or more) .
