Job Overview

Position Summary:

Primary responsibilities include providing quality customer service while accurately processing orders and maintaining inventory at the council shop. Partner with other teams to provide resources that support the Girl Scout Leadership Experience.

FLSA Status: Regular, full-time, non-exempt

Reports to: Retail Sales Manager

Essential Functions:

Process in-store, mail, fax, telephone, and event orders for all items sold through the Council's Shop and Camp Stores (Seasonal Trading Posts)
Provide quality customer service and communicate effectively to volunteers, girls, and other council staff
Stock and assist in maintaining inventory, ensuring store inventory meets customer demand for council shop
Assist with order processing, supply monitoring, web order processing, mobile shops, and camp stores
Creative problem solving in the areas of maximizing sales potential and controlling expense and shrink
Ability to work in a team environment
Handle customer concerns in a professional and diplomatic manner
Willingness to take responsibility for self-directed learning
Knowledge of and/or willingness to understand the Girl Scout Leadership Experience
Track and align personal sales goals as part of the Council Shop team
Utilize postal machine for Council Shop mail and other departments as needed
Ability to travel offsite for mobile shops and/or trading post needs
All other tasks as assigned

Requirements and Qualifications

Commitment to the aims and purposes of the Girl Scout movement with previous Girl Scout experience preferred
One or more years in direct customer service and sales experience/skills preferred
Must be computer literate with preferred Point-of-Sale experience
Ability to work under pressure, manage work time, meet deadlines, and handle a heavy workload in a positive and flexible manner
Effective inter-personal, organizational, communication (written and oral) and problem-solving skills
Demonstrate ability to manage money (cash/checks) accurately and follow strict procedures for securing and maintaining safety of same
Ability to work in a continually changing environment

Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Physical ability to perform tasks that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary to perform job duties
Physical ability to work in both inside and outside environmental conditions
Able to work a variety of hours, including evenings and weekends
