Job Overview

Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. As the point of contact on assigned projects, performs a variety of highly skilled duties such as: detailed construction measurements, product measurements, ordering of products or parts, coordinating and managing multidisciplinary technical reviews and installation teams regarding project specifics. Works in combination with hired engineering team to efficiently move projects from final measurements to permit inspections, to order. Responsible for combining the chosen product with required engineering to create a seamless finished project. Duties to facilitate project include, but are not limited to, final product measurements and specs with customer sign off, collaboration with engineering to confirm specs, creation of appropriate material list for variety of projects, lead the subcontracted team in delegation of duties and details appropriate for project, be on-site during projects for various parts of the installation and provide final job walk with homeowner to confirm completion and a successful outcome. Troubleshoots challenges associated with various installation details or steps that may arise before, during or after installation. During the project, will become the installation touchpoint from lead installer to communicate progress with the office, and manage the project timeframe and subcontractor scheduling accordingly. Provides highly skilled technical and management advice and assistance to department management and personnel during project coordination phases through completion. Responds to inquiries about all projects from engineer, office staff or client. Chairs various project review and pre-submittal meetings. Establishes and maintains liaison as required with boards, committees and commissions, when applicable. Assists in developing departmental plans, goals, objectives, policies and procedures to best meet company needs. Competencies Project Management Experience Highly Technical Capacity to understand blueprints and structural engineering requirements Strong Communication between Departments - Sales, Operations, Engineering and Installation Attention to Detail with Problem Solving/Analysis Skills Leadership qualities Understanding of UBC, California Building Codes, General Construction and the Associated Trades Supervisory Responsibility No direct supervisory duties, though management of projects includes directing project related activities of the installation and project team members. Work Environment This job generally operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Travel Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some projects may require more out-of-the-area. Overnight travel for corporate training events are possible.
