Job Overview

As a R&D Test Engineer, you will be an important part of our engineering organization, assuring our product is operating efficiently while maintaining our high-performance standards. You will help us improve our current products, assist in the design of new products, and help fix any issues that arise along the way. You will have a strong partnership with our lead scientist and senior mechanical engineer, working together to design test protocols and report results to upper management.

Day to Day

• Quickly gain a solid understanding of current industry test methods and evaluations
• Execute product testing to support R&D engineering, design development, manufacturing development and design verification
• Test and troubleshoot prototypes for general HVAC function such as airflow and heat distribution
• Address design and tolerance issues as they arise
• Collect, analyze, and summarize test data for reporting to product teams and executive leadership

Desired Qualifications

• 3-4 years of experience working with electromechanical systems
• Experience with clearly communicating test results
• Proficiency in data analysis and reporting, prior exposure to test procedures is a plus
• Proficient in Excel; experience with LabVIEW
• Ability to multi-task and handle tasks with competing priorities effectively
• Strong problem-solving skills with an innovative, resourceful, and creative working style
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently
• Nice to have: Experience with HVAC systems, building controls, the Niagara framework, and CAD
