Job Description
Design, build, repair, and troubleshoot test equipment for laboratory operations. Install, calibrate, and validate finished testing equipment. Assist with testing using the equipment when required.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with testing while following relevant work instructions and procedures.
Work to provide quality data from all test equipment.
Understand equipment's function and its impact on the data provided.
Understand and operate current data acquisition systems in order to acquire appropriate data.
Understand the product being tested and its impact on the results.
Install, setup, and troubleshoot equipment. Assist in the maintenance of equipment.
Assist engineering in component capabilities and selection for test equipment.
Performs other duties as required.

Test Setup and Configuration - Assist in interpreting test plans to determine optimal location(s) for the test equipment.
Test Article Build - Assembles test equipment according to requirements, while highlighting function as well as form, including all necessary installation or accommodations for instrumentation, in a manner which allows a successful test.
Education, Licenses, Certifications:
High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.
A regionally applicable Certification (e.g. US Department of Labor) or two year Associates Degree from an accredited college program in a relevant field of study.
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Experience:
Requires experience with electronics, wiring, and soldering, whether on the job, or as a hobby.
- Perform routine and complex maintenance, troubleshooting, minor repairs, and assembly of mechanical/electrical testing systems
- Perform routine and complex maintenance, troubleshooting, minor repairs and assembly of pneumatic and hydraulic systems on laboratory equipment
- Fundamental understanding Data Acquisition (DAQ) principals
- Understands testing equipment control logic (analog and digital signals)
- Timely delivery of walk-in requests from internal customers
- Action oriented, taking on new opportunities and tough challenges with a sense of urgency, high energy, and enthusiasm.
- Base understanding of filtration products and their applications
- Champion Safety within the Laboratory by maintaining work spaces according to 5S methodology and completion of Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Health Identification Risk Assessments (HIRA), and Lock Out Tag Out(LOTO) procedures
- Decommission test stands following applicable laws regarding disposal of electrical equipment and chemicals.
