Job Overview
Titan Coatings, a family owned and operated business for over 30 years, manufactures high quality coatings for the protection of metal surfaces. We are currently looking for a Quality Control Technician that has both the talent and ability to join a team that is passionate about our company and our industry.
This position starts at $18/hr but with satisfactory reviews and expectations met at the following periods, increases will be as follows:
60 days - eligible for $2/hr increase
90 days - eligible for $2/hr increase
180 days - eligible for $2/hr increase
SUMMARY :
Manage outgoing quality of batches through established quality assurance programs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Apply test methods for QC of plant batches & assess pass/fail
2. Color matching and batch adjustment
3. Track problem batches & confirm resolution
4. Maintain calibration of required equipment for batch QA to include:
Color, gloss & pH instruments
Coating thickness meters
Viscosity, temperature & WPG equipment
Other equipment/instruments required for QC of manufactured product
5. Maintain clean & orderly working areas
6. Follow all specified safety procedures and requirements
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to lift at least 50 pounds
Ability to walk and/or stand up to 6 hours per day while performing the job functions
COMPETENCIES To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the Education, Training, and Skill, required.
EDUCATION:
High School Diploma or GED
TRAINING:
On the job - Day Shift
SKILLS:
1. Previous quality lab experience preferred
2. Strong time management and interpersonal skills
3. Strong attention to detail
4. Ability to work independently
5. Mathematical skills including basic addition, subtraction, multiplication and division including formulas with fractions and measurements.
