Position: Construction Quality Assurance Representative (Comprehensive Components)

We are seeking a Construction Quality Assurance Representative (Inspector) for our proven project management team in support our federal agency clients in St. Louis, MO. The incumbent role will primarily involve the daily evaluation of Contractor's Quality Control System and implementation thereof, evaluation of shop drawings, submittal reviews, evaluation of construction methods, evaluation of construction materials, interpretation of plans and specifications, evaluation of jobsite safety, evaluation of construction progress, general compliance with building codes where applicable, assistance with scope definitions and estimates for modifications or new project assignments, and other general project engineering / quality assurance type activities necessary to ensure conformance with the plans and specifications.
Candidates must have a thorough practical knowledge of construction means and methods and demonstrate excellent written and oral communications skills. The incumbent will regularly independently tour the construction site and document inspection results by completing reports and logs, summarizing work and waste, and inputting data into Quality database.
Required Background, Experiences, Capabilities:
- United States of America Citizenship
- 5+ years of experience as a construction Quality Assurance Representative (Inspector) on vertical construction projects that include the following components: electrical, comm/low voltage, mechanical, plumbing, enclosure, fire protection, civil, structural, utilities, finishes, etc.
- Previous experience performing construction inspections on large, complex federal projects specifically DOD and/or USACE.
- Ability to read and interpret construction documents.
- Familiarity with construction safety, MEP codes and regulations, and construction means/methods.
- Proficiency with MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint.
- Experience with USACE three-phase inspection process and USACE Resident Management System.
- Ability to obtain DOD Security Clearance.
Candidate must be able to perform the typical duties and responsibilities this job which requires:
- Perform field Quality Assurance (QA) inspections and draft daily reports.
- Attending various construction meetings.
- Evaluate submittals and RFI's for conformance with plans, specifications, and regulations.
- Assist COR in identifying violations and disagreements for clarification.
- More specifically the incumbent shall:
- Review the plans and specifications prior to the start of the work to become familiar with the project requirements.
- Ensure that the Contractor's Quality Control System is functioning and providing the desired results of a quality construction project, performed in a safe manner.
- Make daily observations and document the general construction methods implemented by the contractor and make specific note of any deviations from the approved plans and specifications.
- Be responsible for reviewing submittals for conformance with the approved construction documents, and any applicable safety codes and / or regulations.
- Review the contractor's quality control reports to assure that quality control operations are adequately documented in the contract file.
- Document all work that is ongoing within the assigned specification sections of the discipline team in RMS (and/or ACONEX) on a daily basis.

Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing abilities required by the incumbent includes those which permit the employee to communicate effectively in person and by telephone. While performing the duties, the incumbent works both indoors and outdoors in different climates and weather conditions, including inclement weather. Noise levels are usually moderate while indoors and with exposure to power and construction equipment with elevated noise levels while outside. The incumbent must frequently maneuver through unfamiliar buildings, construction sites, maneuver uneven and/or rough terrain and periodically climb ladders and crawl under or through small spaces.
