We are recruiting an experienced Purchasing Manager preferably with construction purchasing experience . Our client is a larger regional contractor in the Pittsburgh area that needs to fill a position due to retirement. This position is extremely important to the success of the company and reports directly to the President of the company. We are recruiting for individuals that are highly organized, motivated and great negotiators. No travel is anticipated.

Responsibilities

• Source and qualify vendors as necessary in order to meet project demands
• Ensure that materials are delivered as scheduled
• Collaborate with suppliers, vendors and Project Managers to establish and improve relationships, quality and overall partnerships
• Reduce and/or maintain material costs through cost saving techniques along with strategic negotiation with vendors
• Negotiate all vendor pricing of all front end commodities
• Analyze multiple vendor bids and create all project budgets
• Negotiate and monitor master contract agreements and vendor work scopes
• Responsible for creation and distribution of all purchase orders and variance purchase orders
• Continuously monitor and update vendor pricing
• Manage a team of three purchasing professionals
