Job Description:
5+ years as a Mechanical and Electrical Engineer
Desired Experience:
Engineer in Training (EIT) and Engineering Intern (EI) certification
Professional Engineering license in any state
Experience in the design, maintenance, and/or operations of commercial buildings
Experience in operating and maintaining health care facilities
Project Management or Construction Management experience
Engineering design experience in the area of expertise
Locations:
To be assigned to Denver, CO offices of VCI but assignment locations will vary and shall be discussed with candidates prior to offering employment opportunity.
COVID-19 considerations:
The position requires daily on-site work in an occupied field office and active construction job site alongside others. Compliance with COVID protection protocols, if they are reimplemented by the client, is required.

Salary: $80,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year

Job Description:
- Develop mechanical engineering drawings and technical specifications for non-recurring maintenance, repair, renovation, addition, and new construction projects primarily for healthcare facilities.
- Create schematic diagrams such as one-lines and riser diagrams as well design drawings under the supervision of Senior Engineer.
- Perform detailed field data collection as required for renovation projects. Write technical specifications for building systems.
- Responsible for quality and accuracy of deliverables including design packages
- Perform design reviews including inter-disciplinary reviews, code compliance, and constructability.
- Conduct preliminary feasibility studies to determine most cost effective/timely solutions for infrastructure and facility needs.
- Conduct field investigations to determine root causes of problems and provide recommended solutions.
- Respond to Requests for Information (RFI) and review contractor's submittals.
- Field verify as-built drawings and update record files to correct deficiencies.
- Review scopes of work for Architectural-Engineer (A-E) design projects and assist with proposal development.
- Develop procurement packages for client execution for non-recurring maintenance or local construction projects. Packages include a scope of work, cost estimate, drawings, and specifications.
- Support commissioning efforts when projects are completed and new/repaired systems are brought online.
- Provide oversight for safety and infection control measures in a health care environment.
- Must have a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in English both orally and written and experience in preparing technical correspondence, written reports, and briefing leadership. May provides service on-site directly for various clients. Travel across the United States to support other clients may be required.
