Role and Scope of Position: Responsible for managing the life cycle of DER projects from project initiation to issuing Permission to Operate (PTO) letters to DER Customers. Coordinate all engineering activities related to assigned projects and interface with project stakeholders, including but not limited to various Engineering disciplines, Substation Construction, Operations, Test Personnel, Contract Administration, Legal, Real Estate, Accounting etc. Identify project scope and manage the engineering work in a manner which ensures compliance with safety, budget, and schedule requirements. Lead and ensure project schedules with appropriate Engineering disciplines in ensuring adherence to DPU Tariff guidelines are met at each milestone. Lead any ad-hoc administrative activities that may be required in fulfilling activities of issuing desktop requisitions to Contractors in managing outsourcing activities. Job Description Essential Functions: Manages highly complex DER related Substation & Distribution projects including, but not limited to, new substation additions, transformer and switchgear additions, re-conducting, and major protection scheme modifications. Manage Distribution level overhead projects post interconnection agreements of DER Customers leading all subsequent activities from developing the Construction Schedule to the end state of the projects in issuing PTO letters to the Customers Provide oversight on project deliverables from the project initiation phase to delivering the permission to operate letter. Ensure that timelines associated with every task of the projects are met per the applicable Tariff timelines. Ensure that proper study deliverables are met per the internal department expectations by adhering to the process flow including engaging other engineering disciplines. Work closely on a weekly basis with the Scheduling team in leading P6 schedules and providing weekly updates on every task of the project. Ensure that P6 schedule aligns with any other Power BI data and Power Clerk tool. Work with the DG Customer Care team toensure that all Customer HOLDs are applied on applications when necessary and that applicabletimelines are enforced. Ensure that no Impact Study agreements (ISAs) are issued without conforming to all pre-requisites and requirements,including collaborating with other departments to develop cost estimates and conduct relevant site visits. Ensure development of accurate schedules and engineering resource projections. Develop Project Authorization Forms (PAFs) and presenting them to appropriate approval committees like State-PAC, SDC & EPAC. Track project costs for DER projects to ensure compliance with customer financial obligations. Initiate corrective actions as necessaryforproblems throughout the life cycleof the DER project. Coordinates/completes project engineering close-outs and works with Accounting on cost reconciliation. Responsible for ensuring compliance withapplicableTariff timeline requirements. Participatein weekly internal calls toprovide project updates and in customer calls to brief stakeholderson project progress and deliverables. Perform site walk downs with other engineering departments as deemed necessary. Perform any ad-hoc administrative activities related to the project purchase orders to be issued to external stakeholders. Technical Knowledge/Skill/Education/Licenses/Certifications: Technical Knowledge/Skills: Excellent leadership, teambuilding, coaching, interpersonal and motivational skills Thorough knowledge of applicable engineering, work practices and procedures, and safety requirements Thorough knowledge of engineering and design contracts Knowledge of the energy delivery power system Ability to schedule, plan, and manage complex projects Good human resource management Ability to utilize information technology and the use of Eversource's office automation systems Education: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Project Management Master's Degree preferred Experience: 10 years of experience consisting of a combination of electrical engineering and project management experience Experience in Energy Delivery is preferred Licenses & Certifications: PMP Certification is Preferred Working Conditions: Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.
