  • Purpose of Job
    • The Construction Project Manager is responsible for the management of capital construction projects among our hospitals and clinic locations in the best interest of Methodist Health System. This position oversees budgets, schedules, safety and quality elements of projects from conception to completion.
  • Job Requirements
    • Education
      • Bachelors degree in Construction or related field required.
    • Experience
      • Minimum of 4 years experience in programming, design planning, construction, move-in, and startup of Healthcare and Office facilities required.
      • Experience in day to day contractor involvement resolving construction issues preferred.
    • License/Certifications
      • Valid and current driver's license required.
    • Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
      • Accomplishes project objectives by planning and evaluating project activities.
      • Knowledge in planning, delegation, time-management, and problem-solving required.
      • Skilled in AutoCAD, Blue Beam, Adobe, Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook required.
      • Knowledge of space planning, budgeting and furniture.

      • Works with internal customers and outside vendors to understand and execute the logistics of projects to include temporary locations, relocation of customer's furniture, phones, PC's, office equipment, medical equipment, staff and the like in a manner which meets the customer needs.
      • Manages contractors and other employees by mentoring, coaching, training, supporting, and establishing objectives to promote success and growth and to contribute to Health System and division goals.
      • Establishes and maintains excellent communication in and between departments and teams within the department to optimize operations by creating and monitoring various communication mechanisms such as team meetings, memos, open forums and multi-process work groups.
      • Establishes and maintains project files to include planning, task time frames, records of meeting/attendees, project progress, costs and other related project communications.
      • Coordinates and attends internal and external meetings to ensure oversight and compliance regarding security issues within the Health System.
      • Coordinates meetings and planning sessions with internal and external vendors.
      • Works independently to plan, recommend, coordinate and implement special projects or tasks with little or no direction.
      • Interacts with internal customers, outside vendors and contractors, government officials regarding code requirements and facilities personnel to maintain a successful communications network and to ensure quality project management.
      • Assists the Director in surveying project sites on a regular basis.
    • Essential Functions II
      • Participates in mandatory in-services and/or CE programs as mandated by policies and procedures/external agencies and as directed by management.
