We have an excellent staff of highly skilled professionals consisting of civil and geotechnical engineers, engineering geologists, scientists, laboratory and field technicians, deputy inspectors, drafting CADD, drilling, and support personnel specialized. In addition, we have licensed and experienced deputy inspectors and technicians specialized in their respective fields (including concrete, masonry, batch plant, fireproofing, shotcrete, soils, structural steel, non-destructive testing, and welding) to provide construction observation and testing services.

Job Details

We are looking for an exceptional Geotechnical Project Engineer with an emphasis on geotechnical construction for our Torrance, California location. A successful candidate will have experience performing field investigations and preparing design-level reports.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Perform field investigation work which will include but is not limited to; logging soil and rock borings, construction

inspection, and preparation of daily construction reports
  • Preparation of daily construction reports for a variety of projects including commercial and residential developments,

educational facilities, infrastructure improvements, bridges, highways, and commercial sites.
  • Directs and oversees junior staff or field personnel working on design and construction projects.
  • Conduct geotechnical investigations and prepare design-level reports for a variety of projects.
  • Work closely with other project engineers and geologists and supervise field staff
  • Manage clients and participate in business development activities
  • Enhance the professional reputation of our company in general and specifically the geotechnical

department
  • Other related duties and responsibilities, as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS
  • California PE certification required, GE certification a plus
  • At least 5 years of experience is required
  • Experience in geotechnical analyses methods including liquefaction analysis, slope stability analysis, ground improvement,

wall design, pavement design, material and soils testing, and geotechnical laboratory testing
  • Experience using software such as gINT, LPILE, SLIDE, SNAILZ, SLOPE/W, etc.
  • MS in Civil or Geological Engineering, specializing in Geotechnical Engineering desired
  • Ph.D. in Geotechnical Engineering, a plus
