Job Overview

Responsible for overall quality of our field services, specific to project site activities for assigned project; including allocating field resources efficiently, supervising field technicians, training field staff, evaluating, testing, and managing the technical proficiency of field staff, and managing Client 's expectations of our field services. Employee shall have the following minimum duties and responsibilities: Coordinate with administrative and Engineering staff and Supervisor regarding priorities, deadlines, and special work assignments. Coordinate allocation of field technicians in conjunction with Dispatch. Review field procedures and verify accuracy and completeness of field results on a regular basis. Supervise field technicians in testing operations and perform competency evaluations and competency tests of field technicians. Perform field-testing as required for instructional purposes. Provide guidance and support for the submission of completed reports via paper or electronic submission. Provide training and instructional guidance to field technician 's competencies as per the office 's Quality Manual. Check time records of technicians daily for accuracy including time-off requests. Inform manager of workload, overtime requirements, and status of current projects. Responsible for routine maintenance of field inspection and testing equipment as well as the calibration and proper documentation of all applicable equipment. Responsible for maintaining an adequate stock of routine supplies and materials. Understand, adhere and participate in the Raba Kistner Health and Safety and BBWS Programs and set a good safety example as department Safety Officer. Perform tasks in keeping with the responsibilities of department Radiation Safety Officer. Assist in maintaining and operating fleet of service vehicles as necessary. Attend preconstruction/field meetings where appropriate for facilitating a complete understanding of project expectations for field services. Frequently lift and/or move 45 pounds to include, but not limited to tools, sample containers and equipment. Potential exposure to movement of heavy equipment on construction or roadway sites; potential exposure to hazardous dangerous chemicals and solvents, noise, dust, fumes, grease and oils, radiant and electrical energy, and vibration; all of which would require employee to follow proper safety procedures and utilize appropriate protective equipment. Position may require protracted or irregular hours. Flexibility to work irregular hours is necessary due to client needs. Work responsibilities may require out of town/overnight travel to Raba Kistner offices, client offices and project locations on an occasional basis. Perform other duties as assigned. Employees shall possess the following minimum qualifications: High school diploma or G.E.D. certification. ACI Field I, Portable Nuclear Gauge Safety and US DOT Hazmat Certified, Nuclear Gauge Safety Operator, NICET I Soils or Concrete, ICC Certified, and other Certifications as deemed necessary. Minimum of 5 years of industry experience, 10 years preferred. Other relevant skills and experienced preferred but not required, include Radiation Safety Officer and Fleet Management experience. Capable of drafting technical field reports. Possess valid Texas driver's license and meet company's auto insurability requirements. Excellent math skills for analyzing field results. Recording skills to report test data. Communication skills for meeting with clients and handling incoming calls concerning test data. Organizational skills to set priorities, schedule assignments, and meet deadlines. Must be able to work efficiently, handling multiple tasks simultaneously. Supervise technicians with varying degrees of experience and educational background. Must have ability to utilize hand tools such as sledgehammers, shovels, and picks. Present a professional appearance to best represent the firm. Must pass a drug test prior to employment and will be subject to post-accident, random, and reasonable cause testing during employment. Comply with all attendance requirements as noted in most current edition of the Employee Handbook.
